Introduction:

The in-situ testing of seabed sediment using a circular water tank platform (laboratory type) is used to simulate on-site water flow and sediment settlement in the laboratory, and to study and establish numerical models of underwater sediment in marine and river environments.

Ocean currents (mixed with changes in tide levels, waves, etc.) can cause the suspension and transport of sediment on the seabed. The phenomenon of sediment transport plays a crucial role in research and engineering in rivers, estuaries, coasts, and other areas. The suspension, movement, and transportation of underwater sediment directly affect the dredging of ports, the erosion of nearshore engineering facilities, seasonal beach changes, and the stability of riverbeds. The transport of sediment also causes the exchange of nutrients between the bottom sediment and the water body, as well as the resuspension of pollutants in the sediment and their return to the water body. Is underwater sediment easily eroded by water flow? The in-situ testing platform for seabed sediment provides more than ten types of data to answer this question: critical velocity of sediment suspension, erosion velocity, and dynamic erosion process.

working principle:

The main body of the platform is a circular water tank placed in the laboratory. The water circulation drive system inside the tank can generate unidirectional or reciprocating circulation flow of the water in the tank, with the flow velocity accelerating step by step from low to high, simulating the flow velocity changes in real marine environments. Sensors installed inside the sink include flow meters, turbidity meters, and dissolved oxygen meters, which can monitor the suspension and sedimentation (erosion and deposition) of sediments at different flow rates. The platform automatically tests and collects data.

The overall structural framework of the sink is made of AISI316 stainless steel, and the height of the framework can be customized according to needs.
